"We are drowning in information and starving for knowledge."

- Rutherford D. Rogers

The above quote by Rutherford D. Rogers rings all to true for any endeavor we embark on today. I will not contribute to the waters, but instead aim to feed the hungry with what morsels I possess.

I am not your typical Software Engineer

I don't get excited about the latest tech, newest javascript library that just dropped, and I surely do not like swimming in a sea of endless data and its implications.

No, I much prefer learning about humans behavior, aspirations, and motivations.

More specifically I'm endlessly fascinated by matters of human trust, team building, leadership, and how to create a mutually beneficial relationship between teams that produce, and the companies that employ them.

I apply myself to tasks concerning process improvement, business enablement, and cross-functional cultural dynamics. I never accept a status-quo when there is tangible mutual benefits to be made between company, employees, and customers.

I prefer narrative, loose math, and see technology as not having merit unto itself but as a means to solve real human problems. Therefore you will find much of the following in my writings;

  1. Anecdotes, lots of them as I primarily learn from story and direct experience.
  2. Loose math and imperfect data to check my gut.

What is it like to work with me

My own words

I ask a lot of questions, because to understand someone's perspective is to understand their reality.

In matters of continuous improvement, I never stop pushing.

Always searching for ways to align people's values to their work.

I observe the environment and how people operate in their environment for a great deal of time before coming to any conclusions on what to change.

Kind words from my peers
